Mr. Charles Sherrod Edge, age 81 of Alston, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Lumber City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lumber City, Georgia.

He was born on December 7, 1940 in Soperton, Georgia to the late George Woodrow and Yvonnie Faircloth Edge. He worked as a farmer for most of his life. He was Baptist by faith and a member of Alston Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Virgil Edge; two sisters, Sastine Edge, and Nellie Edge and husband Sam Coleman; and one uncle, Jack Faircloth.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Earline Edge; one brother, Truman Edge of McNatt Falls; two sisters, Carlina Hitchcock of Grays Landing and Minnie Edge of Forsyth; eight nephews, Jimmy, Derek, Bobby, Jesse, Thurman, Pop, Paul, and Kenny; ten nieces, Brandy, Brenda, Christie, Lilibet, Melinda, Little Mary Bell, Barbara Jean Conway of Texas, December, Brenda Sue, Diane, and Barbara Jean Conway of Texas; two brothers-in-law, David and Janice Johnson and Lewis and Brenda Gray, both of Lyons; four sisters in law, Willa Dean Bienna, Mary Anne Beckworth, Rosa Lee Powell, and Betty Jean Johnson, all of Lyons; one step-daughter, Sandra Thompson; and two step-sons, Wallace and Kenny Thompson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
