Randy Shuman

Randy Shuman of Union Point, GA, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Piedmont Augusta at the age of 62.  Born on June 21, 1960 in Vidalia, GA he was the son of the late Shadrach Dyess Shuman and Betty Jean Fountain Shuman.  He grew up in Vidalia and attended the First Baptist Church.  Randy graduated from Vidalia High School and studied further at Brewton-Parker College. On August 22, 1981 he married the former Alisa Sorrow of Union Point.  Randy had a successful career at Novelis where he was still working as the Safety Manager and had been working there for forty-two years.  Over the years he was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing. He also was a great cook and could grill anything.  Another hobby he had was woodworking.  During his spare time he stayed busy with his friends, and spending time with his family, and grandchildren.  

In addition to his wife, Lisa Shuman of Union Point, GA, he is survived by two sons, Steven Shuman (BreAnna) of Union Point, GA and Scott Shuman (Crystal) of Crawfordville, GA; brother, Robert Shuman (Teresa) of the Normantown Community; sister, Kim Shuman Rigsby (Mark) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Taylor Shuman, Nathan Shuman, Rilyn Lamar, Jeremiah Shuman and Jaxson Shuman; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Pam Shuman Horne.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Joseph Hurley officiating.  The family will receive friends Friday September 16, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home. They will also receive friends at the residence of Sally Sorrow 1610 Washington Hwy. Union Point, GA 30669. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
