Mr. Franklin Joiner, age 84, husband of the late Carolyn Riner Joiner, of Soperton passed away on Saturday evening, January 21, 2023 at the Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Soperton.

Born in Treutlen County, he was the last living of two sons born to the late Ocie Floyd Joiner and Ruby Pearl McLendon Joiner.  Mr. Joiner attended Soperton High School before enlisting and serving in the United States Navy.  Upon being honorably discharged he began a long career as a Nursing Assistant at the Veterans Administration in Dublin; from where he retired in 1988.

As a child, Mr. Joiner and his family attended Red Bluff Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of fifty six years, Carolyn Riner Joiner and his brother, James E. “Jimmy” Joiner.

Mr. Joiner leaves behind: children, Belle Fouts (Douglas), Salinas, CA, Mitchel F. Joiner (Jody), Evans, GA and grandchildren, Sadie Joiner, Reagan Joiner, Leanna Joiner, Noah Fouts and Peyton Fouts.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from the graveside as Mr. Joiner is laid to rest beside his wife in the Corinth Church Cemetery, Meeks, Georgia with Reverend Milton Thomas officiating.

His family will receive friends on Sunday, at the gravesite.
