Elton Jackson

Mr. Elton Jackson, age 87, of the Normantown Community, died Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after a sudden illness.  He was a native of Soperton, and lived in Normantown most of his life.  He retired after thirty-five years from the Georgia Department of Transportation.  He was Baptist by faith, and he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and playing pool and cards.  Preceding him in death was his wife, Patsy Lamb Jackson; son, James Jackson; parents, Flem Jackson and Stella Cauley Jackson; one sister, Sadie Jackson Miller; and two brothers, Walter “Pete” Jackson and Larry Jackson.

His family includes one daughter, Ruth Beasley and husband Roy of the Kibbee Community; three grandchildren, Nolan Beasley of Normantown, Kayla Jackson of Cartersville, and T.J. Jackson of Blue Ridge, Georgia; one great-grandson, Bretley Beasley; two sisters, Wilma Scott of Normantown, and Diane Knight of Vidalia; one brother, Alvie Jackson and wife Bernice of Normantown; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, February 1st, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Mitch Bellflower officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 1:30 until just prior to the service.
