Ms. Linda Adams Fortner, age 69, of Glenwood, died Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lyons, after a brief illness. She was a native of Wheeler County living in Glenwood all her life, she was a 1971 graduate of Montgomery County High School. Ms. Fortner was employed with Home Healthcare as an LPN for a number of years. In her spare time, she enjoyed word puzzles, coloring books, and reading. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bennie S. Adams, Sr. and Louise Poole Adams; and her stepmother, Doris Kight Adams.
Her family includes one son, Jim Fortner and wife Risa of Kite; one daughter, Peggy McDaniel and husband Allen of Swainsboro; three brothers, Buddy Adams and wife Lydia of Mt. Vernon, Benny S. Adams Jr., and Aaron Adams and wife Amy, all of Glenwood; one sister, Wanda Paulk of Glenwood; five grandchildren, Dylan McDaniel and wife Dana, Harlie Brown and husband Boulder, Abigail Fortner, Lizzy Kite, and Jesse Kite; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, February 2nd, at Adams Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:30 until just prior to the service.
