Vincent R. Drummer Funeral Home announces the death of Grennette (Mary Helen) Montgomery age 83 of Tampa, FL. Grennette was born on February 9, 1940, in Uvalda, Georgia, to the late Reverend Wilbur and Mildred Wooten.
She confessed Christ as her personal savior at an early age. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Viola Ferrell and Izola Wooten-Hampton; first husband and father of her children, Wilber Davis, Sr., and second husband, Donald Montgomery.
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Mildred (Millie) Davis and Wilma (Ouija) Wilson (Oscar); son, Wilbur Davis, Jr. (Kathy), of Tampa, FL; sisters, Chinie Wooten and Annette Hinshaw; grandchildren, Bobby Burney, Jr., Alicia Grennette Burney, Victoria Brown (Cornelius), Brandi Harris, Jasmine Minor, Adrian Johnson, and Brandon Davis; great-grandchildren, Jaylen Staten, Amarii Johnson, Anissa Johnson, Ja’khi Johnson, Aiden Harris, Aliyah Harris and Hasani Brown; nephew, Joseph Wooten; grandnieces, Ashley Walters and Janell Brown; great-nephews and -nieces, Xavian Walters, Promyce Moody, Andre Brown, Jr., Kevin Sails, Jr., Caleb Sails, and Ariyah Brown; goddaughters, Rhonda Ray and Cheryl Narcisse; godson, Jose Valentine; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 2 PM until 6 PM at Vincent R. Drummer Funeral Home in Lyons, GA.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Sanctuary of Mount Cavalry Missionary Baptist Church in Alston, GA. Rev. Lehmon Smith is Pastor. Elder George Chance will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Vidalia, GA.
