The Region 3AA All-Region Baseball Team was recently announced, and the Vidalia Indians placed three players on the 1st team and one additional player on the 2nd team.
Walker Moncus (3B), Cason Banks (OF), and Lawson Lowe (1B) were all chosen as 1st team selections, while Kaleb Bennett (OF) was named to the 2nd team. “All 4 are very deserving,” said Vidalia Head Baseball Coach Brent Korn. “It was a tough region all around and a there were a lot of very good players in the region; So, making it was huge thing,” Korn added.
Moncus, who led the team with a .378 average, finished the year with 42 Hits, 7 home runs, 12 doubles, and 36 RBIs. Banks ended the year with a .341 average, with 31 Hits, 2 home runs, 6 doubles, 2 triples, and 19 RBIs, “Banks and Moncus are both seniors, who not only had a big year, but also had big careers at Vidalia” said Korn
Lawson Lowe, who, according to Korn, had a “break out season,” hit .325, with 3 doubles, 15 RBIs, and a home run as a Junior. “We are excited about what he will bring back to the team next year as a senior,” Korn said
Bennett, also a Senior, was the Indians’ only 2nd Team selection, hit .354, with 19 RBIs.
