Mr. Steven Dwayne Tanner, age 42 of Soperton passed away on Thursday evening, June 8, 2023 at Meadows Regional Hospital in Vidalia.

Born in Swainsboro, he is one the three children and the only son born to Fred Tanner and Ruby Dell Brantley Tanner.  Steven was a lifelong resident of Soperton and had worked as a Millwright and heavy equipment Deisel Mechanic. 

A constant comedian; he had a big heart for others, enjoyed fishing, time spent with his son and making others smile.

He had attended Trinity Assembly of God.

Steven leaves behind, his mother, Ruby Dell Tanner, his father, Fred Tanner, his son, Tylen Tanner, all of Soperton, a daughter, Courtney Douglas, Swainsboro, GA, two sisters, Regina Ward (Terry), Dublin, GA, Stephanie Jones, Soperton and a grandson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home.

Steven will be laid to rest in the Old Herndon Cemetery in Treutlen County.

His family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
