The Toombs County Bulldogs (10-5, 4-1 Region) continued their winning ways on Wednesday, demolishing the Tattnall County Warriors by a decisive score of 16-0. A dominant offensive performance coupled with great pitching secured the shutout victory for the Bulldogs.

Toombs County wasted no time putting runs on the board. In the top of the first inning, a flurry of hits and miscues by Tattnall County allowed the Bulldogs to score a seven runs to take an early lead. Key contributions came from Brantley Upshaw (double), Jackson Jenkins (single), Tucker Braddy (single), Tyson Brantley (hit by pitch), Ryder Sears (single), and a wild pitch that brought a run home.

The Bulldogs extended their lead in the top of the second inning with two more runs thanks to RBI singles by Braddy and Sears, but weren’t done scoring yet. In the top of the fourth inning, they exploded for another seven runs, fueled by a combination of walks, errors, and key hits by Jenkins, Ledford, Braddy, and Brantley.

Tucker Braddy paced the Toombs County offense, leading the team with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate. He collected three RBIs and sparked several scoring rallies throughout the game. The Bulldogs put on an offensive clinic, collecting a total of 12 hits. Jenkins, Sears, and Stanley all had multi-hit games. Additionally, the team displayed patience at the plate, drawing seven walks with Harris and Ledford leading the way with three walks each.

TJ Stanley earned the win on the mound for the Dogs. He pitched four strong innings, allowing no runs on just two hits while striking out three and walking two. The defense was equally impressive. They played error-free baseball and turned a double play to stifle any potential Tattnall County threats.

The Bulldogs will face the Warriors in game three of the series on Thursday, March 21 at home. Game time is set for 5:45pm. Be sure to come out and support the Dogs! (Courtesy of Toombs County Athletics)
