obit McRee

Mr. Ian ā€œEā€ Patrick John McRee, age 36, of Ludowici, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024, in a house fire attempting to save his animals. He was a native of Jacksonville, Florida and lived most of his life in Jacksonville. He graduated from Eagles View Academy in Jacksonville. ā€œEā€ served in the United States Army and served one tour in Iraq. While in the Army, he received the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Certificate of Achievement, and Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver-Wheeled Vehicles Clasp. He was a truck driver and was sarcastic to a fault, but always kept everyone around him laughing. He had a love for the outdoors, and took great pride in teaching his boys how to hunt and appreciate the outdoors as well. He loved baseball, especially coaching his boys in the sport. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Patrick and Fay Hall and Mickey McRee; and a great-grandmother, Bonnie Haefele.

His family includes his wife Chrystal McRee of Ludowici; his three boys, Josiah, Maverick, and Theodore McRee, all of Ludowici; parents, Kimberly and Danny Williamson of Lyons; two sisters, Samantha Blancher and husband Ashton of Dumbfries, Virginia and Madison Nobles and husband Justin of Lyons; two brothers, Brian J McRee and wife Taylor of Statesboro and Daniel Williamson of Vidalia; two grandmothers, Jonell McRee of Jacksonville, Florida and Lynda Gets of Daytona, Florida; one aunt, Kelly McLean of Jacksonville, Florida; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that stretched around the globe.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday afternoon, April 13th at 2:00 at Long County Recreation Department in Ludowici, Georgia 31316.

Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home of Vidalia is in charge of arrangements.
