Mrs. Debbie Ann Holton Powell, age 66, of Mount Vernon, died Monday, April 15, 2024, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, after a brief illness. She was a native of Montgomery County where she lived all her life and was a 1975 graduate of Montgomery County High School. She worked at Handy Andy and was a member of Higgston Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed putting up vegetables and spending time with family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer “Elmo” Claude Powell; parents, Phillip Holton and Lois Harden Holton; a sister, Cindy Adams; and step-daughter, Christy Powell.
Her family includes, her children Chance Powell and wife Jessica of Mount Vernon and Brandi Clark of Uvalda; one step-son, Stacey Powell and wife Ashley of Ailey; one sister, Brenda Galbreath and fiancé Bully of Claxton; eleven grandchildren, Chrislyn Kersey, Kendyl Boyer, Sage Powell, Seth Powell, Saylor Powell, Brylan Thomas, Caleigh Powell, Ansleigh Powell, Kohen Foskey, Kaden Foskey, and Kyler Foskey; one great-grandchild, Ally Rose Bazemore; and several, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
