Mrs. Connie Rountree Jones, age 72, of Vidalia, died Monday, December 2, 2024, at The Oaks Bethany Vidalia, after a sudden illness. She was a native of Toombs County and grew up in the Center Community. She lived in San Bernardino, California for ten years before returning to Vidalia in 1986. She was a 1970 graduate of Lyons Senior High School and later earned an Associate degree from East Georgia College in Swainsboro. She was a homemaker and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Vidalia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester Buford Rountree and Vianna Tant Britt; three brothers, Woodrow Caraway, Malcolm Caraway, and Curtis Caraway; and three sisters, Mazie Caraway Willis, Betty Caraway Taylor, and Genelda Caraway Waters.
Her family includes her husband of forty-six years, Darrell E. Jones; three children, Timothy Jones and wife Trudie, all of Vidalia, Rebecca Jones of Aiken, South Carolina, and Amanda Jones Hernandez and husband Fernando of Vidalia; six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
The funeral service will be Friday morning, December 6th, 2024, at 11:00 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Freddy Tippett officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
