
Ms. Rosa Mae Thomas was born December 28, 1940, to the parentage of Willie and Tommie Johnson Thomas in Alston, GA. She attended school in the Montgomery County School System. She worked for Oxford Industries for many years. She entered eternal rest on November 26, 2024.
Rosa was a devoted mother and grandmother whose love and warmth touched everyone she met. She had a talent for sewing and a passion for travel, exploring with curiosity and joy. Known for her incredible baking skills, her cakes were nothing short of legendary. Rosa cherished simple pleasures—getting lost in the aisles of Wal-Mart, enjoying delicious meals, and sharing heartfelt conversations. She valued good company above all and found happiness in the laughter and love of those around her.
Rosa was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, J.W. Thomas; a sister, Lola Thomas Lovett; a son, Bobby Grubbs and a granddaughter, Karlessia Thomas.
Rosa leaves to cherish her memory, a loving family and countless friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and joy. Her legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Ray Travis (Tracey), Edithia Thomas, Kenny Goethe (DeCarla); grandchildren, Kenyatta (John), Katavyn, Courtney, Dominick, Kenny Jr. (Nicole), and Kyle; 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; siblings, James Thomas Sr. (Geradine) and Shirley Thomas Carter; sister-in-law, Lelia Mae Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Public Viewing will be held Friday, December 6, 2024 from 2-6 p.m. at the Vincent R. Drummer Funeral Home, 211 West Liberty Ave., Lyons GA. Funeral Service will be held, Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11 A.M at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 4590 HWY 135, Alston, GA with Burial to follow in the St. Mary Baptist Church Cemetery, Alston GA.
