Pageant

The queens who will be reigning over the 2024 Vidalia Onion Festival next month were crowned in a day of pageantry at the 46th Vidalia Onion Pageant sponsored by the American Business Women’s Association Saturday.

This year’s Miss Vidalia Onion is no stranger to the stage, and has worn the crown before as a little girl. Kylin Miller could barely contain her excitement when she heard she would be the new Miss Vidalia Onion.

“This is just a surreal moment,” Kylin said. “I won Miss Onion Sprout when I was seven, I think, and now I’m 17 about to be 18. Like I said, it’s surreal, but to me, being Miss Vidalia Onion is like winning Miss America!”

In the Teen Division, it is Madison Page who will wear the crown and sash.

“I want this year to be in the community and represent the Vidalia onion,” Madison said. “I’m looking forward to what this year has in store for me and all the queens wo were crowned today.”

Other division winners from Saturday were Baby Miss Amelia Soto; Teeny Miss RemiGrace Butler; Tiny Miss Nora Kate Downie; Little Miss Laynie Jo Branch; Young Miss Jaylee Odom; and Junior Miss Evelyn McCoy.
